Crisis 1

Berlin blockade- Stalin forced all allies out of West Berlin and attempted to starve w into stagnation

STALIN FAILED- west flew in goods of food and medicine and Stalin was defeated and blockade was lifted

Crisis 2

Workers riots- workers revolting against poor working conditions and poor pay, people were escaping to the West- which was an embracement to the East

Crisis 3

U2 spy plane incident- US SPY PLANE shot down by soviets

Crisis 4

Berlin wall- In 1961 over 600 million people from East escaped into the west. wall prevented escapes and anyone who tried was killed

NATO

North Atlantic treaty organization- WEST Germany became a member and it was formed under US leadership- USSR saw this as a threat

USA provided weapons to NATO
