They are proteinous "biological catalysts" "speeding up the chemical reaction".
What is the role of Amylase?
It aids "digestion of starch".
What is the role of Cellulase?
It aids "digestion of cellulose".
What is the role of Protease?
It aids "digestion proteins".
What are the factors affecting enzyme reaction?
Factors affecting are "pH - Temperature - Enzyme and Substrate concentration".
What is the effect of pH on enzyme activity?
As pH moves away from the pH scale the "rate of reaction decreases". A change in pH causes the shape of active site to change.
What is the effect of temperature on enzyme activity?
It works "best at higher temperature" but at a "temperature above optimum temperature the enzyme denatures".
What is the effect of enzyme and substrate concentration on enzyme activity?
As the "substrate concentration increases the rate of reaction increases" to an initial point to make reaction constant + "Increase in enzyme concentration increases rate of enzyme reaction".
