It was a Roman Catholic Church that was responsible for reforming and creating rules for every doctrine opposed by Protestants.

The church was believed to be the cent of the counter reformation.

“Faith and Good works”

Catholics wanted to make people believe that only believers would be able to produce good works for God.

In order to be declared righteous by God, you have to have faith in Jesus Christ. Good works are necessary to prove as evidence.
