Wilson’s 14 Points
A plan proposed in 1918 by Woodrow Wilson to create lasting peace after World War I.
It included ideas like open diplomacy, free trade, reduced weapons, and the creation of the League of Nations.
Demilitarization
The reduction or removal of a country’s military forces and weapons.
War Reparations
Payments that a defeated country must give to countries it harmed during a war to cover damages.
War Guilt Clause
A part of the Treaty of Versailles that stated Germany was responsible for causing World War I, which forced Germany to pay reparations.
Self-determination
People with a shared culture or nationality should have the right to form their own independent nation or choose their government.
Dawes Plan
A plan to help Germany pay war reparations by restructuring payments and giving Germany loans from the United States to stabilize its economy.
Kellogg-Briand Pact
A 1928 international agreement where many countries promised not to use war to solve disagreements.
