What is a refugee?
A person who is forced to flee their home country because of a well-founded fear of persecution, war, or violence due to race, religion, or political opinion.
Economic Immigrant
An individual selected for their skills and potential to contribute to a country's economy, often evaluated using a point-based system measuring education and work experience.
Push Factors
Negative conditions that motivate people to leave their home country, such as lack of economic opportunity, political instability, or war.
Pull Factors
Positive attributes of a destination country that attract immigrants, such as better jobs, political freedom, or safety.
Family Class Immigrant
A category of immigration where residents or citizens can sponsor their family members, such as a spouse or child, to move to the same country.
