1. Protect a citizen's property rights 

2. Prevents the forced quartering (housing) of soldiers in citizen’s homes

Third Amendment

Third Amendment Responsibility

1. Prevents “searches and seizures” of private property 

2. Property can only be taken or searched with a warrant from a judge (probably cause) 

Fourth Amendment

to use our property in a legal and orderly way 

Fourth Amendment Responsibility

1. Anyone accused of capital or felony crimes will be given a grand and trial jury 

2. Military member will stand trial in a court martial 

3. No person can be accused of the same crime twice (Double Jeopardy) 

4. No person will be forced to testify against himself in court 

5. The government can claim eminent domain on citizen’s private property

Fifth Amendment

1. A fair, quick trial is guaranteed to all citizens

2. Witnesses can be summoned for both sides

A person’s bail and punishment must match the crime committed
