Fertile Crescent

Sumer
The earliest civilization established in southern Mesopotamia around 5500 BKP, composed of city-states like Eridu, Ur, Uruk, Sippar, Girsu, and Lagash.
Ziggurat
Large, tiered, stair-like structures built by the Sumerians as part of their architectural and technological advancements.
Akkadia
The civilization that established the first empire in world history with its center in the city of Akkad, inhabited by Semitic people.
Sargon the Great
The leader who unified the various city-states of Mesopotamia in 2334 BKP and established the Akkadian Empire.
Babylonia
A powerful civilization in southeastern Mesopotamia that became a center of art, literature, and science under the rule of Hammurabi.
Hammurabi
The King of Babylonia who took power in 1792 BKP and is famous for creating a systematic code of laws.
Kodigo ni Hammurabi
One of the earliest systematic sets of laws in history, created during the reign of King Hammurabi in Babylonia.
Assyria
A civilization from northern Mesopotamia recognized for its military strength and organized government from the 9th to the 7th century BKP.
Semitic
The group of people who inhabited the western part of Mesopotamia and established the Akkadian civilization.
