Valiant

Showing courage or determination.

Pestilence

A fatal epidemic disease.

Disdain

The feeling that someone or something is unworthy of one's consideration.

Abide

To accept or act in accordance with a rule or decision.

Turncoat

A person who switches allegiance from one group to another.

Flout

To openly disregard a rule or law.

Canker

Blistered infection, (rarely used literally) something that if put into something else causes harm 

Subdued

Quiet and rather reflective or depressed

Shrewd

Having sharp powers of judgment; astute.

Throng

A large, densely packed crowd.

Solicit

To ask for or try to obtain something from someone. To attempt to provoke.

Perturb

To make someone anxious or unsettled.

Dissuade

To persuade someone not to take a particular course of action.

Covertly

In a way that is not openly shown or acknowledged. Secretly

Semblance

The outward appearance or apparent form of something.

Blithe

Showing a casual and cheerful indifference.

Requited

Make appropriate return for (favor, service, or wrongdoing)

Disparage

To regard or represent as being of little worth; belittle

Bestow

To give something as a gift or honor.

Coy

Showing reluctance to give details about something regarded as sensitive. Shyness and modesty when pertaining to women.
