The intersection of sets A and B, representing the overlap where both A and B occur.
A∪B
The union of sets A and B, representing the area covered by either A or B or both.

The complement of set A, representing everything in the universal set U except for A.
A∩B′
The part of A that does not overlap with B.

The part of B that does not overlap with A.
A∪B′
Everything that is in A or outside of B.

Everything that is in B or outside of A.
