Relative Pronoun--que
Used to refer mostly to things.
El tren tiene un coche-cama que es muy pequeño.
Relative Pronoun--quien(es)
Used only to refer to people. Must have a preposition before it (a, con, de, para, por, en).
El agente de seguridad es la persona con quien debes hablar.
Formal Commands
Drop the -o from the present tense Yo form and add the opposite ending.
trabajar--trabajo----trabaje(n)
tener-----tengo------tenga(n)
dormir---duermo---duerma(n)
To make the command negative, add "no" before the verb.
Irregulars
dar--dé (den). estar--esté(n). ir--vaya(n).
saber--sepa(n). ser--sea(n).
Nosotros Commands
Drop the -o from the present tense Yo form and add the opposite ending for nosotros.
comer----como----comamos
bailar-----bailo-----bailemos
-Ar and -er verbs with stem changes do not change in nosotros command. However, -ir verbs do stem change.
jugar---juego---juguemos
pedir---pido-----pidamos
Informal Commands
To form the informal command, use the 3rd person singular (él/ella) of the present tense.
Tiende la cama. (Make the bed).
Baila en el castillo. (Dance in the castle)
To make the command negative, use the formal usted command and add an -s.
No pongas la mesa ahora porque la cena no está lista.
No comas el cerde.
Commands with Pronouns
When using affirmative commands, the pronouns are attached to the end of the verb.
Lávalos. (Wash them)
Cómala. (Eat it)
Hazla ahora. (Make it now)
When using negative commands, the pronouns are placed directly before the verb.
No la pongas. (Don't set it)
