How is detail created in the figures of the horses?
Their legs are elongated stylistically to highlight speed and movement and convey the fear and urgency in the narrative. This is further reinforced in the pot beneath them that has been knocked over → this is a successful attempt at filling awkward space without damaging the narrative.
The horses mouths are ajar, nostrils inflamed and their eyes open wide to emphasise fear in trying to help Troilus escape.
