1884, Meeting of Nations (no Africans were invited) where they decided on the "rules" that would be used to colonize Africa.
1. Anyone can claim anywhere if they can hold the territory decided on the rules
2. Free trade was protected
3. Respect other European countries

Is the idea that the survival of the fittest applies to the people too and was used to justify colonization especially from an ideological perspective
