New cards
Non- renewable energy resources
Fossil fuels (coal,oil,gas)

Nuclear fuel

\
These will all run out one day

They all do damage to the environment

They are reliable
2
New cards
Renewable energy resources
Biofuel, wind, hydroelectricity, geothermal, tidal, solar, water waves

These will never run out-the energy can be we need as it is used

Most of them do damage the environment, but in less ways the nonrenewables

They don’t provide much energy, and some of them are unreliable, because they depend on the weather

New cards
Energy resources that can be used to transport
Nonrenewable energy resources:

* Petrol and diesel powered(including most cars) use fuel created from oil
* Call is used in some old-fashioned steam trains to boil water to produce

Renewable energy resources:

Vehicles that run on pure biofuels, or a mix of biofuels and petrol or diesel

New cards
Energy resources that can be used for heating
Nonrenewable energy resources:

* Natural gas is the most widely used fuel for heating homes in the UK. The gas is used to heat water which is then pumped into radiators throughout the home.
* Coal is commonly burn in fire places
* Electric heaters, sometimes called storage heaters which use electricity generated from nonrenewable resources

Renewable energy resources:

* A geothermal or ground source, heat pump, uses geothermal energy resources to heat buildings
* Solar water heaters work by using the Sun to heat water, which is then pumped into the radiators in buildings
* Burning, biofuel, or using electricity generated from renewable resources can also be used for heating
