What is the Biosphere?
The biosphere is the region of the Earth where life can be found, including the soil, water, and air.
Name the three parts of the biosphere.
lithosphere, hydrosphere and atmosphere.
What is a biotic feature?
Biotic factors are living things within an ecosystem
What is an abiotic feature?
abiotic factors are non-living chemical and physical parts of the environment
What is the difference between a population and a community?
A population is a group of the same species living in the same area. A community is a group of different species living in the same area.
What is an adaptation?
The ability of living organisms to adjust themselves to their surroundings
Describe the THREE types of adaptations.
Structural, physiological and behavioural
How do adaptation develop in a species?
Adaptations usually occur because a gene mutates or changes by accident
Describe the tundra biome
The tundra is the coldest of the biomes. It also receives low amounts of precipitation, making the tundra similar to a desert.
