Superposition

When two or more waves cross at a point, the displacement at that point is equal to the sum of the displacements of the individual waves

Waves on a String

The type of wave that occurs in a string is called a transverse wave

The transfer of energy and momentum from a point in a medium to another point in the medium without the actual transfer of matter between the points

the magnitude of a quantity per unit area

Doppler Effect

the increase (or decrease) in the frequency of sound, light, or other waves as the source and observer move towards (or away from) each other
