Job Satisfaction
A pleasurable emotional state resulting from the appraisal of one's job or job experiences.
Flow Theory
A mental state of operation where a person is fully immersed in an activity, experiencing energized focus and enjoyment.
Value-Percept Theory
A theory that evaluates job satisfaction based on the perception of how well a job meets individual values.
Emotional Labor
The need to manage emotions to successfully fulfill job duties, often seen in service-oriented roles.
Job Characteristics Theory (Hackman & Oldham)
A framework which identifies five core dimensions of a job that influence employee motivation and satisfaction.
Hindrance Stressors
Stressors perceived as obstacles to personal accomplishments and career progress, often associated with negative emotions.
Challenge Stressors
Stressors perceived as opportunities for growth, often associated with positive emotions.
Coping Strategies
Behaviors and thoughts used to manage stressors and their resultant negative emotions.
Strain
The negative consequences or outcomes resulting from stress.
Social Support
The help received from others, which can buffer the effects of stress.
