What is newtons 1st law?
An object will travel in a straight line at constant velocity unless a net force acts
What is newtons 2nd law?
When a net force acts the acceleration is directly proportional to the force applied and inversely proportional to the mass
What will a resultant force do to an object’s velocity?
Change it’s direction or speed
What is solid friction?
The force between two surfaces that may impede motion or produce heating
How do things moving in a circle work?
The force is directed towards the center which keeps the object from moving in a circle. The velocity at any time is a tangent from the circle. The force and velocity are always perpendicular
What happens in a circular motion when the speed increases?
The force increases
What happens in a circular motion when the radius decreases?
The force increases
What happens in a circular motion when the mass increases?
The force increases
What are some vector quantities?
Force, weight, velocity, acceleration, electrical and gravitational field strength and momentum
What are some scalar quantities?
Distance, speed, time, mass, energy and temperature
