Identify the critical step, when performing a feline perineal urethrostomy that, if failed to be performed, may result in a urethral opening of insufficient diameter and predispose your patient to urinary tract blockage.
The critical step to ensure that the urethral diameter is sufficient and wont predispose your patient to further obstructions is you should be able to pass a closed Halsted mosquito hemostat up the urethra. It should easily pass to the boxlocks of the hemostat without resistance ~5mm
