Need to belong theory
A fundamental motive for social relations that has evolved for adaptive purposes.
Achievement motivation
The need or desire to attain a certain standard of excellence.
Emotion
An immediate, specific, negative or positive response to environmental events or internal thoughts.
Primary emotions
Evolutionarily adaptive emotions shared across cultures, including anger, fear, sadness, disgust, happiness, and possibly surprise and contempt.
Secondary emotions
Blends of primary emotions, including remorse, guilt, submission, shame, anticipation, and awe.
Moods
Long-lasting emotional states without an identifiable object or trigger.
