CL: A

examples: kitchen counter, kitchen island, bathroom counter (with sink), sofa

CL: flat-O > 5 \[AND-hand (closed fingers) open to a cone-shaped 5 hand = rays of light\]

* can be used for an electric light, headlights, or traffic lights


* lamps (low, as on a desk or table - or higher, as a floor lamp)
* shining on a wall
* attached on a vertical pole - as a floor lamp
* arranged as ceiling light fixtures

to show where an object is “set up” on a flat surface

* items on a shelf   \[Classifiers tend to take on the ‘shapes’ of the things they represent.\]
* CL:Claw=palm-down used for any spherical object about that size
* CL:flat-C used for flat ‘thick-ish’ object, such as a book or laptop
* CL:C=palm-to-side for glass or cup
* CL:Claw=palm-to-side for items grabbed or place from the side, 

     such as a vase \[Dr. B addes:  or trophy\]

* CL:1 – used for pointing to (at) smaller items (eg, coins or keys)

* upper cabinets (palm forward, signed higher), can depict L-shaped
* placement of dishwasher, stove, washing machine, dryer  (fingertips 

‘point to’ the back of the item; palm is at front, so the palm can face any 

direction that describes the orientation/position of item)

* also showed W/D next to each other and ‘stacked’
* dresser (in various positions, thus various palm orientations)
* refrigerator, grandfather clock:  downward/vertical movement w/ placement
