Binary fission
one cell splits into two identical cells. Example: bacteria.
Budding
a small bud grows out of the parent and breaks off as a new organism. Example: yeast.
Fragmentation
the organism breaks into pieces and each piece grows into a new organism. Example: starfish.
Vegetative propagation
a plant reproduces from its own parts such as roots, stems or leaves. Example: strawberry runners.
Spore formation
the organism produces spores that are released and grow into new organisms. Example: fungi.
Stamen
the male part; made up of the anther (produces pollen) and filament (stalk)

produces and releases pollen grains (contain male gametes)
Carpel/Pistil
the female part; made up of the stigma, style, and ovary
Stigma
sticky top part that catches pollen

contains ovules (female gametes / eggs)
