Occupational Safety and Health
Health is a cross-disciplinary area concerned with protecting the safety, health and welfare of people engaged in work or employment.
moral
an employee should not have to risk injury at work, nor should others
associated with the work environment.

in cost to the State (e.g. through social security payments to the incapacitated,
costs for medical treatment, and the loss of the “employability” of the worker).

safety standards
are standards designed to ensure the safety of products, activities
or processes and others.
seiri (sorting)
Take out unnecessary items and dispose. Keep only the items you need at work, and
discard or store everything else.
seiton
"Set in order" means that there's a place for everything, and everything should be in its place. Arrange necessary items in good order for use.
seiso (sweeping)
At the end of each working day, take time to clean up your office space. Clean up
any mess you make.
seiketsu (standardizing)
Maintain high standard of housekeeping
danger sign
is used only where an immediate hazard exists.
caution sign
is used to ward against or caution against practices.
exit sign
when needed shall be lettered in legible red letters, not less than 6 inches
high on a white field and the stroke of the letters shall be at least ¾ in width.

when used shall be written with a green upper panel with white letters to
convey the message. Any additional wording should be in black lettering
directional signs

panel and white directional symbol.

ergonomic hazard
Anatomical, Physiological, psychological demands on the worker, such as
repetitive and forceful movements, bad postures, improper working station, extreme temperatures, etc.
physical hazard
Noise, vibration, energy, weather, electricity, radiation, and pressure
psychological hazard
things that cause stress to a worker.
