Define āattitudeā
āAn enduring evaluation, positive or negative, of people, objects or ideasā
How do negative and positive attitudes affect sport
Positive: Important in giving motivation and persistence in the task
Negative: Can cause a lack of effort and affect the cohesion of the team

Cognitive Component

What is the Cognitive Component of the Triadic Model?
Reflects your beliefs or the information you have about the attitude object, often influenced by significant others.
e.g. belief: āWeight training builds muscle bulkā
What is the Affective Component of the Triadic Model?
Emotions, feelings, positive or negative evaluation of the attitude object. This helps to determine the direction of your behaviour
e.g. Feeling: Increased muscle bulk is disgusting/attractive
What is the Behavioural Component of the Triadic Model?
Reflects the intended behaviour towards the attitude object.
e.g. Go weight training
