Conservative

A right-leaning viewpoint that favors less government control and greater individual responsibility.

Reactionary

An extreme right viewpoint that clings to tradition and resists change, using force if necessary (e.g., white nationalists).

Radical

An extreme left viewpoint that demands change, using force if necessary (e.g., Communist Party, anarchist).

Bias

Prejudice in favor of or against a person or group compared with another, usually in a way considered to be unfair.

Implicit bias

Unconscious bias.

Affinity bias

A type of implicit bias defined as a connection to those similar to us.

Perception Bias

A type of implicit bias involving stereotypes and assumptions about other groups.

Halo effect

Projecting positive qualities onto people without knowing them.

Confirmation Bias

Looking to confirm our own opinions and pre-existing ideas.

White privilege

Advantages of a white person based on their race, characterized by racial inequality and injustice.

Systemic Racism

When racism is built into the structure of institutions and the law.
