Density
The measure of how much mass or number of people exist in a given volume or area.
Land Use
The management and modification of natural environment or wilderness into urban, suburban, or agricultural settings.
Population Density
The number of people living per unit of area, typically per square kilometer or square mile.
Urban Density
The population density specific to urban areas, often characterized by higher concentrations of buildings and infrastructure.
Zoning
The process of designating specific areas for different types of land use, such as residential, commercial, industrial, or recreational.
Carrying Capacity
The maximum number of individuals an environment can sustain without significant negative impacts on the ecosystem.
Smart Growth
An approach to urban planning that seeks to develop sustainable and environmentally friendly cities.
Suburban Sprawl
The uncontrolled expansion of urban areas into the surrounding countryside.
