What are the steps to completing a Clean Catch Sample?

Patient stops urine stream and then provides sample in urine cup.

Wipe Refractory slide window with sterile gauze.

Open urine sample and place one droplet on slide window- close slide window gently.

Complete 3 clean wash with dropper using distilled water and water cup.

Pick up refractometer and look to a light source.

Read numbers on left between blue and white line.

Clean sample slide and place sterile gauze on slide for storage.

Remove gloves and wash hands.
