Algonquian
The Algonquian were an American-Indian group in the Northeast, prominent along the Atlantic Coast and in the interior regions along Saint Lawrence River and around the Great Lakes and living in present day Canada. This group of peoples who spoke the Algonquin language was the first tribe to encounter the British when they made it to the Americas and resided in semipermanent longhouses, farmed, fished, and gathered wild foods.
Anasazi
The Anasazi were a group of American Indians in the dry region that now includes New Mexico and Arizona that lived in complex dwellings under cliffs. The Anasazi suddenly abandoned their homes in the 13th century, and the reason why remains a complicated mystery. The Anasazi were farmers in an agricultural era and employed many tactics and strategies to farm with less rain than other groups may have gotten. The Anasazi are famous for their extremely well-engineered cliff dwellings and their departure from them so suddenly.
