What caused suspicions between the US and the USSR during WW2?
Americans were suspicious because Soviets were an ally of Nazi Germany. Soviets were suspicious because Americans delayed starting the attack on Germany.

They used it to control or influence other nations.

It was a stalemate.

HUAC believed that Hollywood was sneaking propaganda into films. They believed that the pro-Soviet films of WW2 were the beginning of it.

Because of accusations of being a communist spy

Members of the communist party that were accused of helping give Soviets the plans for the atomic bomb.

They added to the impression that the US was being betrayed by Communist spies.

He accused people with no evidence
