Active Shooter
An individual actively engaged in killing or attempting to kill people, most often in populated areas, typically using firearms.
Lockdown
An announcement made on military installations to confine and restrict movement, allowing no personnel to enter or exit buildings except to evade danger.
Escape
Moving as far as possible from the scene of the threat.
Barricade
Taking shelter in a room, locking the doors, blocking windows, and remaining quiet to prevent an attacker from entering.
Fight
Acting with decisive violence when directly confronted by an active shooter or when a barricade has been breached.
Cover vs. Concealment
Cover protects from gunfire, while concealment hides from sight but offers no protection.

Always be aware of surroundings, know the nearest exits and evacuation plans, and leave any area that feels unsafe.
