Computer Hardware
The physical components of a computer system, including the CPU, RAM, and storage devices.
RAM
Random Access Memory, the main memory used by computers to store data temporarily while in use.
Cache Memory
A small, high-speed storage area located inside the CPU or between the CPU and RAM to speed up data access.
Non-Volatile Memory
Type of memory that retains data even when the power is turned off, such as HDDs and SSDs.
Volatile Memory
Type of memory that loses its contents when power is lost, examples include RAM and cache.
Client/Server Model
A computing model where client computers request services from a centralized server.
Bandwidth
The maximum rate of data transfer across a network, typically measured in bits per second (bps).
VPN (Virtual Private Network)
A service that encrypts internet connections for enhanced privacy and security while online.
Cloud Computing
Delivery of computing services over the internet, allowing data storage and processing on remote servers.
IaaS (Infrastructure as a Service)
Cloud computing model where the vendor manages hardware resources and the user manages data and applications.
SaaS (Software as a Service)
Cloud computing model where applications are provided and managed online, and users access them through the internet.
