Same size and have the same type of genes

• Nuclear membrane disappears

• chromosomes condense

• centrioles move to opposite sides

• Crossing over

Metaphase 1

• Chromosomes meet in middle

• Spindle fibers attach

Anaphase 1

Homologous chromosomes pulled apart

Telophase 1

• Nucleus reforms

• Spindle fibers disappear

Cytokinesis

• Cytoplasm splits

• Haploid cells

Spermatogenisis

• Production of male gametes

• 4 unique sperm cells

oogenisis

• production of female gametes

• 1 egg, 3 polar bodies

Fertilization

Fusion of two haploid nuclei produce diploid zygote
