Seneca Falls women's rights convention was held. marked the start of women’s suffrage. sparked debate and eventually led to the 19 amendments

balanced between free state or slave state. to avoid conflict between north and south.

Mexico opens Texas to settlers. to help populate the area and defend from native tribes.
1830 - Indian Removal Act
The Indian Removal Act was enacted. by andrew jackson. forced native tribes west to mississippi river.

send african americans to africa for better opportunities
1803 - Louisiana Purchase
Land acquired from France during Thomas Jefferson's presidency. expansion. increased pressure on natives and paved the way to trail of tears.
