Renaissance is a period of European history, lasting from about 1300 to 1600, during which renewed interest in classical culture led to far-reaching changes in art, learning, and views of the world.

Changes in society: less population lead to increase in literacy.
Better education: the knowledge of Greek, Arabic, and Hebrew languages.
New technologies: availability of paper made it easier to create books and develop printing.
Change in classes: a new class emerged, the middle class, which had enough income.
Peace: due to change in political landscape.
• The effects of Renaissance:
Humanism: is an intellectual movement that focus on human potential and achievements. It popularized classical education as history, literature, and philosophy.
Worldly Pleasure: People enjoyed luxury, music, and food. They became "secular" or worldly rather than spiritual but remained Catholics.
Patrons of Arts: Church leaders, merchants, and wealthy families supported artists and art becoming patrons of arts. Cultural and Social Achievements:
