how did policies on gender affect educational achievement
females were largely excluded from higher education in the 19th century. more recently, under the tripartite system, girls had to achieve higher marks than boys in the 11+ to attend grammar school. since the 1970’s policies like GIST have been introduced to try and reduce gender differences in subject choice
