Scatter Plot
A set of points plotted on a coordinate grid that shows the relationship between two sets of different values.
Coordinate Grid
A grid formed by two intersecting number lines, used for creating graphs; includes horizontal and vertical coordinates.
Horizontal Coordinate (x-coordinate)
The number that tells how far a point is from 0 horizontally on a coordinate grid.
Vertical Coordinate (y-coordinate)
The number that tells how far a point is from 0 vertically on a coordinate grid.
Average Income
The mean annual income derived from data points, often represented in various units such as dollars.
Relationship in Data
An association or correlation between two sets of values, which can often be explored using scatter plots.
Data Points
Specific values plotted on the scatter plot that correspond to the two quantities being compared.
Quadrant I
The section of the coordinate grid that includes only positive numbers, typically the top right quadrant.
