Cell Membrane
Thin layer surrounding the cell, providing structure, protection, and regulating the passage of substances.
Cytoplasm
Fluid in which organelles are suspended, maintaining cell pressure and supporting cellular processes.
Mitochondria
Organelles known as the powerhouse of the cell, producing energy through cellular respiration.
Endoplasmic Reticulum
Network involved in lipid synthesis, protein modification, and transportation within the cell.
Golgi Body
Organelle responsible for packaging proteins and carbohydrates into vesicles for transport outside the cell.
Nucleus and Nucleolus
Control center of the cell, directing functions and containing DNA. Nucleolus aids in ribosome production.
Rough ER and Ribosomes
Rough ER with ribosomes bound to its membrane. Ribosomes are sites of protein synthesis.
Lysosome
Organelle functioning as the cell's digestive system, breaking down waste molecules.
Vacuoles and Vesicles
Vacuoles provide storage, while smaller vesicles transport materials into and out of the cell.
Centrosome and Centrioles
Centrosomes organize microtubules, and centrioles within them assist in cell division (mitosis).
