Animal cell organelles

Animals cell organelles:

1.Cell Membrane; Thin layer that surrounds the cell. It provides structure and protection and it is semipermeable.

2 .Cytoplasm; The fluid in which the organelles are suspended. It maintains the pressure inside of the cell

3.Mitochondria; Nicknamed the powerhouse of the cell because they provide energy for the cell. The site of cellular respiration.

4.Endoplasmic Reticulum; smooth endoplasmic reticulum makes lipids(fats), modifies protein and transports them throughout the cell

5.Golgi Body; Packages proteins and carbohydrates into vesicles for transport outside the cell.

6. Nucleus and Nucleous: control center of the cell that directs functions and contains DNA. The nucleus aids in the production of ribosomes.

7.Rough er and Ribosomes; Rough endoplasmic reticulum has ribosomes bound to its membrane. Ribosomes are the site of protein synthesis.

8. Lysosome: The lysosome is the digestive system of the cell. They help to break down waste molecules.

9. Vacuoles and Vesicles; Vacuoles provide storage for materials such as water. Smaller vesicles move stuff into and out of the cell.

10.Centrosome and centrioles: centrosomes serve as the main microtubule organizing center. Centrioles in the centrosomes help the cell divide mitosis.
