Spondylosis
Disease or condition of the vertebral column.
Scoliosis
An abnormal lateral curvature of the spine.
Lordosis
Backward curvature of the vertebral column.
Kyphosis
Outward curvature of the thoracic region of the spine resulting in rounded upper back.
Osteomalacia
Abnormal softening of the bone.
Osteoporosis
Common metabolic disorder in the elderly characterized by decreased bone density.
Osteitis
Inflammation of the bone.
Osteomyelitis
Inflammation through the bloodstream or spreading from nearby tissue.
Osteoarthritis
Degenerative joint disease (DJD).
Ankylosis
Stiffening and immobility of a joint as a result of disease or trauma.
Sprain
Tearing of ligament tissue.
Strain
Muscular injury due to exerting extra physical force.
Arthritis
Inflammation of the joints.
Gouty arthritis
Arthritis caused by the deposit of uric acid crystals in joints causing painful swelling and inflammation.
Rhinorrhea
Discharge from the nose.
Nasogastric intubation
A tube that is inserted through the nose, down the throat and esophagus, and into the stomach

Nasal bleeding.
Anosmia
Absence of the sense of smell.
Dysgeusia
Distortion of the sense of taste.
Ageusia
Complete lack of taste.
Otic
Pertaining to the ear.
Otitis media
Infection of the middle ear.
Tinnitus
Ringing sound within the ear.
Tympanostomy tube
Small tube inserted into the middle ear through eardrum.
