Define the term “human rights”
The fundamental freedoms and protections to which all human beings are entitled to, simply for being human. For e.g. Right to education
Define the term “censorship”
The practice of surpressing and limiting access to materials considered obscene, offensive or a threat to security. People maybe censored on what they post on social media platforms.
Define the term “Extremism”
Believing in and supporting ideas that are vary far from what majority of people deam correct or reasonable.
Define the term “discrimination”
The ACT of treating groups of people or individuals differently, based on prejudice. For e.g. excluding a person from an activity based on their race.
Define the term “personal conviction”
Something a person strongly feels or believes in.
Define the term “Prejudice”
pre- judging; judging grouos of people or individuals to be inferior or superior without cause.
Define the term “relative poverty”
A standard of poverty measured in relation to the standards of a society said person lives within. For e.g living 15% below the national average.
Define the term “absolute poverty”
A acute state of deprivation, whereby a person cannot access the most basic of their human needs.
Define the term “social justice”
Promoting a fair society by challenging injustice and valuing diversity. Ensurin that everyone has equal access to provisions, equal opportunities and rights.
