Baptism

A title for Mary, meaning “all-holy”.
Mary was free from all sin from the moment of her conception.
Hypostatic Union
Jesus’ humanity and divinity coming together.
Immaculate Conception
A dogma of the Church that teaches that Mary was conceived without Original Sin due to the anticipated redemptive graces of her Son, Jesus.
Consubstantial
A term meaning “of the same substance” or “same nature”.
The Catholic Church uses this term to teach that Jesus is of the same substance or nature as the Father.
Simple: God and Jesus are the same.
Visitation
The visit of Mary to Elizabeth after the Annunciation.
Theotokos
Word meaning “God-bearer”; a title for Mary professing that she is truly the Mother of God.
