Geography
The study of the physical features of the earth and its atmosphere, and of human activity as it affects and is affected by these.
Cardinal Directions
North, South, East, and West

Equator

Prime Meridian

Place
The physical and human characteristics of a location.
Region
An area on Earth with similar characteristics.
Movement
The way people, goods, and ideas travel from place to place.
Human-Environment Interaction
How humans affect and are affected by their environment.
Map Projection
A way to represent the spherical Earth on a flat surface.
Robinson Projection
Type of map projection.
Mercator Projection
Type of map projection that preserves shape but distorts the size of objects.
Map title
The title that describes the subject or purpose of the map.
Locator map
A small map showing the area of the main map in relation to a larger area.
Key (Legend)
Explains the symbols and colors used on a map.
Scale bar
Shows the relationship between distance on a map and distance on the Earth.
Map grid
A system of lines on a map used to find locations.
Insets
A more detailed map that focuses on a smaller area.
Political maps
A map that shows boundaries of countries, states, and cities.
Physical maps
A map that shows physical features such as mountains, rivers, and lakes.
Special purpose maps
A map designed to highlight a particular theme.

A person who does not believe in a particular religion.

The unlawful use of violence and intimidation.
