What is social control?
It involves persuading or compelling people to conform to society’s norms, laws and expectations.

What is internal forms of social control?
There are controls over our behaviour that comes from values and our personalities.
What is the Moral conscience/Superego?
It’s when we obey the rules because our superego tells us what’s right or wrong as it inflicts our guilt.
How does tradition and culture affect our behaviour?
Through socialisation, it builds norms and values. Religion affirms someone’s identity and being accepted as a member of a particular community.
What is external forms of social control?
It’s when society has agencies of social control like institutions that impose rules on us in effect to make us behaviour in certain ways.
Who can have an impact on your social control?
Friends, peers, family and the education system.
What is a positive sanction?
Rewards.
What is a negative sanction?
Punishments.
