Dental Dam Punch
An instrument used to punch holes in the dental dam for each individual tooth.
Function of Dental Dam Punch
To create appropriately sized holes in the dental dam so it can be placed over the teeth being isolated.
No. 5 Hole (Dental Dam Punch)
The largest punch-hole size; used for the anchor tooth that holds the dental dam clamp.
Anchor Tooth
The tooth on which the dental dam clamp is placed; requires the largest punch-hole (No. 5) in permanent dentition.
Designated Hole Sizes (Permanent Dentition)
Pre-set punch sizes correspond to specific teeth, ensuring proper fit of the dental dam over each tooth.
