Compound Sentence

Declarative Sentence

Imperative Sentence
sentence used to command, enjoin, implore, or entreat (important order)

foreseeing and forestalling objections to an argument (answer before asked)
Infinitive Phrase
a phrase starting w the infinitive form of a verb

sentences that start with verb (self explanatory, looks like a complex sentence, verb leads the sentence)
Gerund Phrase
a verbal ending in ING functions as a noun (looks like a simple sentence bc -ing can be replaced w it)
Predicate Adjective
an adj that come after linking verb and modify (describe) subject in sentence (come after as adj)
Predicate Nominative
a noun, pronoun, or noun phrase that come after subject in sentence and a linking verb that rename or define subject (come after as noun)
Participle Phrase
when a verbal (end in ing or ed) is used as an adj (verb as adjective and describes smth/ provide more context that will be mentioned later in sent)
Prepositional Phrase
a preposition + object + other word that may modify that object (position)
