    • Wampanoag and NA allies vs. colonists and NA enemied of Wampanoag

    • very bloody → colonists won (helped by New England Confederation)

What was Bacon’s Rebellion?

  • govt. failed to protect small farmers on Virginian western frontier from NA attacks

  • Nathaniel Bacon led rebellion

    • raids and massacres against NA villages (including some with good relations)

    • Bacon accused of rebelling against royal authority

    • Bacons defeated governor’s forces and burned Jamestown

  • Bacon died → rebel army collapsed
