Self-Actualization
The ultimate goal in Maslow's hierarchy of needs, representing a person's best life.
Physiological Needs
The most basic level in Maslow's hierarchy, including housing, food, and health.
Safety/Security
The second level in Maslow's hierarchy, involving physical and financial safety, and employment security.
Abuse
Intentional harm.
Neglect
Not providing physical, emotional, or needed medical care (intentional).
Assault
Threatening harm or causing fear.
Battery
Physical harm.
Love and Belonging
The third level in Maslow's hierarchy, involving romantic partners, friends, and social groups.
Self-Esteem

Erikson's Stages of Development
Psychological/Social Milestones influenced by biological, psychological, and social factors leading to healthy personality and relationships.
Basic Trust vs. Mistrust
Erikson's Stage 1 (Infancy): Developing trust through care provided by parents (Birth to 18 months).
Autonomy vs. Shame & Doubt
Erikson's Stage 2 (Early Childhood): Exploring a sense of control in every act (18 months to 3 years).
Initiative vs. Guilt
Erikson's Stage 3 (Preschool): Facing challenges and overcoming them to develop self-esteem (3 to 5 years).
Industry vs. Inferiority
Erikson's Stage 4 (School Age): Seeking more freedom & developing social interactions (5 to 11 years).
Identity vs. Role Confusion
Erikson's Stage 5 (Adolescence): Developing a self-image and identity (12 to 18 years).
Intimacy vs. Isolation

In young adulthood, a person is comfortable with self and others.

In middle adulthood, a person contributes to society in a meaningful way.

In older adulthood, a person has feelings of success in life.
