What is the Legislative Government made up of?
A bicameral house, with two chambers. The house of representatives and the Senate. They both make up Congress.

They make/write the laws
What is the process to make a law?
Congress agrees to pass a bill, the president signs it, and it becomes a law
What are some powers of the Senate?
They can approve the president’s choice for judges and other people who represent the USA.
They can approve members of the president’s cabinet
They can impeach officials
The Executive Branch…
carries out the laws
The President can veto a bill from Congress, but…
Congress can override the bill with a 2/3s majority
The Judicial Branch….
interprets laws and settles disputes over them
What can the Judicial Branch do to a law?
They can cancel it if it is unconstitutional
How many justices are there on the Supreme Court?
Nine, and they are all appointed by the President and approved by the Senate.

A group of advisors to the President, including the heads of important department

To accuse or charge a government official of a misconduct
Veto
To reject a bill from becoming a law; only the President has this power
