Nonuniform Motion

Any motion in which either the speed or the direction of an object changes.

Acceleration

The rate at which an object’s velocity changes.

Velocity-Time (V-T) Graph

Velocity is plotted on the vertical axis and time is plotted on the horizontal axis.

Graph of acceleration versus time.

Average Acceleration

Change in velocity during some measurable time interval divided by that time interval.

Instantaneous Acceleration

The change in an object’s velocity at an instant of time.
