Three connections between Philippians 4:10-19 and rest of Philippians
Paul is thankful for the Philippians in 1:3-11 and in 4:10-19. They were able to show Paul their concern for him by sending their gift with Epaphroditus (4:18) who Paul is now returning to them (2:19-30). Paul is thanking them for their gift but he also wants them to know he is not anxious but rather he is content (compare 4:10-19 with 4:1-9) because he trusts in Jesus who is the only one who can save (3:1-11). Paul is able to look on the bright side of his suffering (1:12-29) because he is content, which in turn is because he trusts Jesus. If Jesus can save it makes sense to keep following him (3:12-21).
