Electrode

A conductor through which electricity enters or leaves an object, substance or region

a liquid or gel that contains ions and can be decomposed by electrolysis

Separation

Involves taking a mixture and moving particles of the different components away from each other and grouping them together. Separation is a physical process

Cations

positive metal ions that move to the negative electrode

Anions

Negative ions move to the positive electrode.

Reactants

Are substances initially present in a chemical reaction that are consumed during the reaction to make products.

Products

Are substances that are not initially present and are formed during the reaction
